Greyhound Bus Hit Truck After Veering from Center Lane

The August 15th crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at mile-marker 71.

Greyhound bus 1104 was headed to Cincinnati, Ohio from Atlanta, Georgia, and had stopped in London, Kentucky less than an hour earlier. For some reason, the vehicle veered from the center northbound lane and collided with a flatbed truck in the adjacent lane.

The impact of the crash flipped the rig onto its side and caused significant damage to the left-front side of the bus.

“I just felt some swerving and it was like an impact and everyone flew forward,” one Greyhound passenger told reporters. “And then there was glass everywhere and everyone was screaming and crying.”

Seventeen people were subsequently transported to hospitals in Berea, Richmond, and Rockcastle County. So far, authorities have not identified any of the victims or commented on the extent of their injuries.

It’s also not clear if anyone remained hospitalized as of Friday.
