Zehl & Associates was proud to sponsor the second annual Battle of the Bayou Young Lawyer Mock Trial Competition. The competition took place at the Harris County Civil Courthouse from September 8 to 10, 2023.
In addition to serving as a fundraiser, the competition provided an opportunity for lawyers across Houston with less than five years of experience to demonstrate their courtroom prowess as they faced off against each another.
“The event is a great way to see how these young attorneys react when they’re in the courtroom,” said Zehl & Associates founder, Ryan Zehl. “Watching them in action provides tremendous insight into their legal abilities now and, even more importantly, into the type of lawyer they have the potential to become down the road.”
The University of Houston Law Center Foundation continues to look for additional firms and organizations to serve as name sponsors for various awards and events at this competition. All remaining funds from the “Battle of the Bayou” go to the UH Law Center’s National Mock Trial Team to help cover the cost of attending additional national mock trial tournaments throughout the year.
