Two Children Die Tragically In 18-Wheeler Crash Near Bedias, Texas

 

Two children died tragically Wednesday morning, after an 18-wheeler collided with their mother’s car along Highway 90 in Grimes County, Texas.

The horrific accident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m., just 1 mile south of Bedias.

18-Wheeler Struck Mazda Carrying Mother, 3 Children

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Montiqua Mosley, 26 of Bedias, was driving a 2007 Mazda sedan south on Highway 90 when she slowed down to make a turn into a private driveway.

Mosley was then hit from behind by an 18-wheeler driven by 30-year-old Mickael Compton of Missouri.

Two Children Pronounced Dead at Scene, Mother and Third Sibling Seriously Injured

Two of Mosley’s children, ages 2 and 5, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Their 6-year-old sibling suffered serious injuries and was transferred via medical helicopter to McLane Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Mosley was also seriously injured in the crash and was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

The driver of the 18-wheeler escaped the accident unharmed.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
