Fiery 18-Wheeler Crash Tragically Kills 2 Truckers from Laredo, Texas
Two truckers died tragically over the holiday weekend, after their 18-wheelers were involved in a fiery crash near Laredo, Texas.
18-Wheeler Driver Failed to Yield Right-of-Way
The July 5th collision occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m., as both tractor-trailers were entering the intersection at U.S. 83 and State Highway 255, just 22 miles south of Laredo.
The 25-year-old driver of a 2007 Kenworth tractor-truck was attempting to exit the westbound lanes of 255 towards U.S. 83, but apparently failed to yield the right-of-way.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, his rig then collided with a 2007 Cub Cadet driven by a 56-year-old man.

The force of the crash caused each trailer to roll on its side.
The Kenworth driver was thrown from his rig.
The Cub Cadet quickly became engulfed in flames, trapping the other.
The drivers were pronounced dead that the scene. Authorities later confirmed that both were from Laredo.
Laredo 18-Wheeler Crash Was 2nd Fatal Accident at Intersection
Unfortunately, Friday’s collision wasn’t the first fatal accident involving that particular intersection. In fact, another Laredo man was tragically killed there on June 28th, after his car collided with a Freightliner tractor-truck.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 43-year-old was heading north on U.S. 83 in a red Grand Marquis. The driver of an 18-wheeler traveling west on 255 disregarded a stop sign while attempting to cross U.S. 83, bringing the trailer into the path of the victim’s vehicle.
The motorist died at the scene, while the truck driver escaped without injury.
