2 Texas Workers Injured in Rusk County Oilfield Accident

 

An oilfield accident in Rusk County, Texas, sent two workers to the hospital yesterday morning.

Injured Men Worked for Well Pro Services

The May 16th incident occurred around 9:00 a.m., at an oilfield along County Road 311, just outside Henderson.

According to local media outlets, the men worked for White Oak-based Well Pro Services LP.

They were pulling piping from a wellhead, when it suddenly separated. The pipe then struck both workers.

Oilfield Workers Suffered Head and Back Injuries

A helicopter evidently transferred one of the men to Tyler with a head injury. His co-worker suffered a back injury and traveled to UT Health Henderson by ambulance.

So far, authorities have not identified the victims or commented on their current condition.

Officials from the Texas Railroad Commission are looking into the accident and arrived at the site Thursday afternoon.
