Northeast Houston House Collapse Leaves Two Workers Dead

 

Two men died earlier today, following a house collapse in Houston, Texas.

Home Was Being Raised Following Hurricane Harvey Flooding

The fatal accident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m., at 5414 Olana Drive in northeast Harris County, near the Eastex Freeway interchange with the North Beltway.

The unidentified men had been working for hours to raise the home, which had been flooded during Hurricane Harvey.

Deceased Workers Were Under House When It Collapsed

Both workers were under the house when the wood-frame structure suddenly shifted and collapsed. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others working outside the building were not injured.

Investigators from the Harris County Sheriffs Office and the EastTex fire department remain on the scene.
