4-Month-Old Infant Among 3 Seriously Hurt in Walker County 18-Wheeler Crash

 

A 4-month-old baby boy and two adults were seriously injured yesterday afternoon when an 18-wheeler failed to stop for traffic along Interstate 45 in Walker County, Texas.

I-45 Traffic Stopped Due to Previous Accident

The violent February 13th crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m. near mile-marker 128 between Madisonville and Huntsville.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, traffic in the southbound lanes of I-45 was already at a standstill because of a previous accident. The approaching 18-wheeler was unable to stop and slammed into the rear of a pickup truck and passenger car.

I-45 Crash Victims Listed in Serious Condition

Helicopters airlifted the infant and a 27-year-old woman to Herman Memorial Downtown in Houston. A 34-year-old man was taken to Conroe Hospital in an ambulance.

While the hospitals have not disclosed the nature of their injuries, all three crash victims were listed in serious condition yesterday afternoon.

Walker County 18-Wheeler Accident Remains Under Investigation

Texas State Troopers are working to determine why the 18-wheeler driver failed to see the traffic and was unable to stop in time.

Yesterday’s crash remains under investigation. So far, it’s not clear if anyone will be charged in connection with the accident.
