Texas Truck Accident Lawyer | Victims of I-10 Seguin 18-Wheeler Crash Identified

Authorities in Texas have identified the three people killed last Thursday when an 18-wheeler lost its load and triggered a multi-vehicle crash along Interstate 10 in Seguin.

Several others were injured in connection with the August 26th accident, including a Seguin Police Officer.

18-Wheeler Lost Load After Braking Abruptly

The multi-vehicle wreck occurred just before 3:00 p.m. when an eastbound 18-wheeler carrying meat products was cut off by other vehicles attempting to avoid a work crew along I-10 at the State Highway 123 Bypass overpass. The truck braked abruptly and spilled part of its load onto the roadway, resulting in slick conditions.

A second 18-wheeler swerved to avoid crashing into the first truck but collided with a guardrail and burst into flames. The rig’s cab proceeded to careen over the barrier while its trailer remained on the highway. The fire also set off several explosions from the vehicles’ fuel tanks, airbags, tires, pistons, and cargo.

3 Killed in Seguin Crash Were Residents of San Antonio and Marion

The initial accident triggered a secondary crash involving four other vehicles.

Three people died at the scene, including two men from San Antonio, ages 48 and 36. A 37-year-Marion man was also killed.

The remains of all three victims were transported to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies.
