Contractor Injured in Houston’s Whitehall Hotel Explosion Tragically Passes Away from Burn Injuries

Harris County medical examiners confirmed on Wednesday that one of the electrical contractors injured following an explosion at the Whitehall Houston hotel last Friday has died from his injuries. The second injured contractor, who suffered burns to his hands, is in stable condition.

Contractors Were Replacing Breakers in Underground Electrical Room

Jose Zadezensky, 40, was one of two contractors who suffered burn injuries Friday afternoon after an explosion occurred in an underground electrical room where three contractors had been replacing breakers.

Zadezensky was the owner of an appliance repair business, Ventraco Corporation, located in Spring, TX. It has not yet been confirmed if the company working at Whitehall during the time of the explosion was Ventraco.

The cause of Zadezensky’s death, as well as the details of the accident, are still under investigation.
