I-10 Truck Accident Tragically Kills Two Houston Residents, Including Teenager

Two Houston residents, including a 14-year-old-boy, died tragically on Sunday evening, when a Mack truck tractor collided with their pickup along Interstate-10, just west of Columbus, Texas.

Mack Truck May Have Crossed Center Median Before Colliding with Pickup

The deadly crash was called in around 10:00 p.m. on March 18th.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2019 Mack truck tractor was towing three tractors when it allegedly crossed the center median and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The impact of the crash caused the Mack truck and Chevy pickup to overturn.

Two Crash Victims Died at Scene, Two Others Injured

Rene Llamas, 43, and an unidentified 14-year-old boy, both from Houston, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third occupant, 40-Year-Old Aurora Bernal, also of Houston, was taken to Columbus Memorial Hospital.  Information regarding her condition has not been made available.

The driver of the Mack truck, Scott Osterhout, 43, of Idaho, was transferred via helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital—Texas Medical Center in Houston. He was listed in good condition as of Monday evening.
