The crash happened at approximately 6:48 p.m. on Monday, May 26, near the Madison County Solid Waste Convenience Center outside Jackson, Tennessee.
Initial reports from first responders indicated that 39 people sustained injuries in the crash, with 29 of those victims transported by ambulance to local hospitals. Greyhound has since confirmed that 30 passengers were hospitalized.
As of Tuesday morning, May 27, local media outlet ABC24 is now reporting that a Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesperson has confirmed that two people have died from the crash and that a passenger vehicle was also involved.
None of the crash victims have been identified, and authorities have yet to disclose the nature of their injuries or comment on the condition of those taken to the hospital. However, Greyhound has acknowledged that 30 individuals had been hospitalized due to the crash.
