Two scholarships for financial assistance to survivors of accidents – $1,000 financial aid to one Law Student and $1,000 financial aid to one University Student

As part of our commitment to helping those who were injured, Zehl & Associates is pleased to announce the creation of two new Scholarship offers: one is for law students currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited law school and the other will go to a student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a private or state university.

The two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two applicants who submit the required application and essay by the May 30, 2015 deadline. Details are below.

Eligibility:

Law School Scholarship:

This scholarship will be awarded to a law student at an accredited law school who either personally was the victim of or has a family member (brother, sister, mother or father) who was the victim of a major accident.

To be eligible, candidates must submit a 1-3 page essay describing the impact that the accident had on them (or their family member), what they have done to overcome the effects (physical and/or financial) of the accident, and how the experience has influenced their desire to become an attorney.

Candidates must have a current GPA of at least a 3.0 or be in the top 33% of their law school class.

University Scholarship:

This scholarship will be awarded to a student at an accredited university who either personally was the victim of or has a family member (brother, sister, mother or father) who was the victim of a major accident. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and 18 years or older.

To be eligible, candidates must submit a 1-3 page essay describing  the impact that the accident had on them (or their family member), what they have done to overcome the effects (physical and/or financial) of the accident, and what they believe could or should be done to prevent a similar accident from occurring again in the future.

Candidates must be full-time students and have a current GPA of at least a 3.0.

Requirements:

To apply, candidates must submit the following by 5:00 pm (CST) on May 30, 2015:

  1. A completed application (which can be found on our website),
  2. Their personal essay (described above), and
  3. A certified copy of their current transcript confirming that they meet the eligibility requirements listed above.

Rules:

Winners provide personal information, as needed, to Zehl & Associates and authorize the firm to publish the name and essays of the winners on one or more of the firm’s websites and other marketing materials.

Upon accepting the scholarship, the applicant will also agree to allow Zehl & Associates to use their name, the name of their university or law school, and/or a picture to be used in announcing the winners of the scholarship.

Award:

  • Scholarship is to be used exclusively for law school/university tuition and related academic expenses.
  • A check for $1,000 will be made payable to the award recipient’s school to cover these expenses.
  • The two winners will be notified on or about June 30th, 2015.
