The process at that time we were doing was surging the well, to try and get the drill pipe unstuck. As I’m looking over my equipment, I see out of my peripheral. I see what looks like fire rolling. And once I got up off the ground, I only have one exit, and I just took off running. And I thought I’d singed the hairs on my face. And that was not the case. I looked at my face and I now have burns to the face.

Mentally, I felt doomed, because I knew that things weren’t going to be the same. My work career has now changed. I’m in a situation where I’m not going to be able to continue to stay in the oil field, so I didn’t really know what the future held.
