Hit by a Semi-Truck on My Motorcycle – My Spinal Injury Recovery and Legal Victory

I wanted to take my motorcycle into work. I was in the right-hand lane. Just as I came out from under the overpass, I noticed there was a couple cars in front of me that all slammed on their brakes. I get over to the left-hand lane. Right as I get in the lane and kind of get settled there is when I noticed a big semi-truck that just pulled out right in front of me.

I remember everything right up until the moment of impact. I lost consciousness and then next thing I remember is I’m on my back and I started to think like, “Oh man, I might be dead.” And then it’s kind of patchy in and out between there and and the hospital. Four fractures across three different vertebrae. Injured my shoulder as well. Ended up needing to have a reconstruction surgery on that.

So for the next 6 months, like any little stress, it’ll do more damage. And then no physical activity, just giving it a chance to heal. you know, I was kind of a drift and this was, you know, big thing that happened to me and trying to figure out how to navigate it and the team here and y’all did a good job with that. I have a friend who’s a criminal lawyer.

Based on his suggestion, I thought it made sense to look at maybe somebody who’s a little more specialized or maybe a little more familiar with like trucking in West Texas. Your name kept coming up. You guys got back to me very promptly and guys very supportive and and very helpful the whole way along.

And yeah, especially navigating the medical care, insurance and doctors and hospitals and the specialists and coordinate the travel and the logistics and you guys are really helpful in taking a lot of the stress and the load off of me just dealing with the logistics and the practical side of that.

Freeing me up to continue being able to do my job at work and getting better from an outsider getting like an inside peek at how the sausage is made. It’s like man some of this is just like there’s some crazy stuff that goes on and just how complicated the thing is.

There’s there’s a guy who’s driving the truck and then there’s a guy who owns the truck, but he’s leasing it out to another company that’s actually operating the truck and I think it’s their trailer that’s on it and then they’re leasing it out to like a job site somewhere. And half of those people weren’t ever seen in the country again after this.

And for somebody who was clueless to all that, you guys team did a great job of, you know, making sure I didn’t have any confusion or or misunderstandings there. and I was in a very very stressful time in my life when it all happened and they were like a rock that I could cling to to help me get through some some really tough crap. So, they have a great team. They did great by me.

I had a complicated case and they got me a good result. I feel like uh these are the people to go with and glad I did. All around you guys knocked it out of the park. Don’t take it the wrong way. I hope I never have to employ your services in the future, but if I ever am in a situation or somebody that I care about, that’d certainly be in my recommendations.
