Seabrook, Texas Home Explosion Leaves 2 Contractors Critically Burned

A home explosion in Seabrook, Texas, critically burned two contractors yesterday afternoon.

Burned Contractor Jumped into Pool

The June 22nd explosion erupted at a house located along Cottage Cove in the Mystic Village subdivision, about 30 miles northwest of Houston.

Residents in the area reported hearing a loud pop followed by shattering glass.

“I looked up and I could see glass coming down, then shortly after that…I could hear somebody hollering, coming down the street,” a witness told ABC-13. “The contractor was coming out of the house. He was on fire and jumped in the pool.”

Paint Fumes May Have Contributed to Seabrook Home Explosion

A medical helicopter airlifted both men to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Authorities have not released the victims’ names, identified their employer, or commented further on their condition.

The homeowner and his daughter were also on-site at the time. While they were both shaken up, it appears neither were seriously injured.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the Seabrook house explosion but have suggested paint fumes may have contributed to the blast.
