I just know that Daddy went to work on his day off. Something wasn’t tied down right, and the wind blew it over. It fell on my dad instantly. Thank goodness it was quick.

At the funeral, it was a packed house—just like we thought it would be. Daddy had a lot of friends. It was nice to see how many people loved him. I remember saying out loud, “Somebody has to pay for this,” and my brother and sister agreed.
