18-Wheeler Struck Pedestrian During Gravel Delivery

The October 12th accident occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. on a private drive located in the 400 block of North Abbott Road near St. Hedwig in far East Bexar County. While it’s not clear what led to the tragedy, the 18-wheeler was delivering gravel to a ranch and may have been backing up when the victim was hit.

Witnesses attempted to render life-saving aid, but the truck driver got back inside the vehicle and left. The 58-year-old man died before Bexar County Sherriff’s deputies arrived on the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, and authorities are working to track down the truck driver. While the victim has not been identified, media reports indicate he owned property nearby.
