Motorist Tragically Killed and 3 Hospitalized After 18-Wheeler Runs Red Light in Humble, Texas

 

One person died and three others were injured, following a horrific Black Friday accident near Humble, Texas, that began when an 18-wheeler blew through a red light.

Officers from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene of the tragedy shortly before 1:00 a.m. on November 24th.

Police have determined that the driver of the 18-wheeler ran a red light at the intersection of F.M. 1960 and Kenswick, causing the rig to T-bone a pickup truck.

The 18-wheeler pushed the pickup about 200 feet down the road before crashing into a second vehicle and finally coming to a stop.

The unidentified driver of the pickup truck was tragically killed on impact.

Two passengers in the pickup were hospitalized, including one who was transported via Lifeflight.

The sole occupant of the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital.

No additional information regarding the condition of the injured has been made public.

The 18-wheeler driver escaped the accident unharmed. Police have indicated that he underwent testing for intoxication after the crash.

The accident remains under investigation. Among other things, police are trying to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
